My heart is made of chocolate, head wraps, Harry Styles and queer black girl magic

About a week and a half ago, I filled out PAE Reviews’ Newbie Tag to commemorate my first two months in the blogging ring. Erika from PAE Reviews officially tagged me to answer some questions by nominating me for the Liebster Award. The award is a sort of tagging chain used to help bloggers engage and get know more about one another.

Here’s what I had to say about myself as the ange behind Petit Ange Brun and the blog as a platform.

What motivates you to keep blogging? // I am motivated to keep blogging because I am committed to writing every day and seizing the most out of every day.

Do you have a blog schedule? // Since Petit Ange Brun is a daily blog. So, like clockwork, you can always expect a post before I go to sleep. But at the same time, there is no particular variation of or rationale behind my posting habits.

What platforms do you use to share your blog posts? // I use Facebook and Twitter.

If you got the chance to collab with a brand, who would it be and why? // As a magazine journalist, I have had my fair share of magazine classes that have cracked open the ethics of collaborating with brands (native advertising, advertorials and the like).

Be that as it may, I would love to create a photo essay with brands like Fanm Djanm, Otherwild or Wildfang, where beautiful, powerful queer femmes and women of color are at the forefront.

What’s the first thing you do when you wake up? // Check my email! You never know what you might miss over the course of the day if you don’t check your email first.

Write an inspirational quote you think of when you’re having a bad day. //

You can watch the rest of Waithe’s literally groundbreaking speech here.

What do you do when you’re not blogging? Job, school, et cetera? // I am a senior journalism student who is simply doing her best.

If you could interview a famous person, who would it be and why? // As a journalist, that is such a hard question. There are so many people of whom I want to ask so many things. Since I’ve been listening to his self-titled album a lot lately, I’d probably say Harry Styles. That man is full of kindness, creativity and a bunch of surprises.

What’s your favorite junk food to snack on? // As you do in Europe, I have developed a weakness for Kinder Buenos. I have bonded with the man who runs my local convenience store over it.

When did your friends and family find out that you had a blog? // I had been scheming on firing up a culture blog shortly after I got accepted into my study abroad program. If not informally, then my friends and family knew when I published my precursory post.

If there was a day in your life you could go back and re-do: would you take the opportunity and why? // No particular days come to mind. As Hallmark-movie as it sounds, I wouldn’t change a thing about my life, including the absolutely horrible, low days. All of the experiences I’ve had, for better or for worse, have made me who I am today and have made me strong.
